The Class of 2023

Olng'arua School|Emma|November 3, 2023
Olng'arua School Class of 2023

2023 has been an extremely challenging year for all the students of Olng’arua School, but those who were studying for their final exams have suffered the most. Eight of them were due to take their KCPE exams in November, and six of them did.  We are extremely proud of them for sticking with it, through all of the violence and disruption to their lives and their studies.

All but one of them started at Olng’arua in nursery class. The school providing them with a safe haven, through previous bouts of violence, as they progressed into primary education. One of them was taken out of school for several years but came back to us. One of them came to us much older, as a young mother, having been expelled from a government school because she was pregnant.

None of them have had an easy time of it, even before the violence this year. Our job now is to see that they all continue into the next stage of education, but for now, can you match the little cuties below with their older selves?
