For the first time, thanks to generous donors, we had a Christmas Party at Olng’arua School. Christmas is still a very new idea to this community, and has arrived more as the modern concept rather than a religious one, everybody loves a party! The main objective of our event was to see how all our children were doing during this long holiday and for them to have some fun!
We had various activities and of course lots of food and naughty sweet things, however the best fun of all seemed to be the camel riding.
Getting on a camel isn’t too hard. They sit down nicely and wait for you to settle yourself.
…The tricky bit is staying on when they get up (or in reverse, sit down again).
…
Camels are big and it is a long way down so it is important to avoid falling off. These camels have been well trained though and are very calm and steady.
…
Once you are settled it is great fun riding a camel. Even the Leopard group’s teacher, Patrick, had a go.

i really missed this one!!!!
