At the end of the day everybody at Olng’arua School comes together for a short meeting. Each evening a different child runs the meeting and asks the others, children and adults, what was good or bad about their day. Anybody can speak, or not, as they feel like. Some tell of the good things they did that day, or talk about any problems they had. If someone had a problem the others can offer help, advice or just sympathy. These are not like meetings you might have at work, these are a gathering of our school family, with just enough organization to ensure that anyone who wants to be heard can be. It helps us all connect again after a busy day doing our separate things and, hopefully, it means that no child goes home with worries or problems that they could not deal with during the day.
